This graphic novel was so confusing. The art style was interesting, maybe too dark at times, but I could see what was going on. My issue was the plot jumped around like crazy. It took two “flashback” scenes to realize they were actually flashbacks. I genuinely thought my copy from NetGalley was out of order, especially because there was one page at about the 40-ish mark where there were speech bubbles but the words were missing. From what I understand of the plot, two detectives are investigating a mall shooting and the shooter was a previous witness who had absolutely no reason to go homicidal. The detectives then get called out to a warehouse where two other detectives went in to investigate and never came out. I want to say the story has something to do with atoning for your sins or dealing with demons? I ended up skimming it after the 50-60 page mark. I’m one who will read the ending of a book before I’ve even started it. I enjoy spoilers sometimes, helps me get my excitement up as I read the book. After skimming this graphic novel and reading through the end I was none-the-wiser to what the heck was going on. This story definitely had potential and if it has been done right I think I would have really enjoyed it. Thank you NetGalley for the chance to review this book, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me.
