I received this book from NetGalley for free in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed this novella. Usually I try to avoid reading books that are later on in a series because usually they’re so entwined with each other you’re kinda lost. Thankfully this book wasn’t like that. There was just enough backstory thrown in there that I knew exactly who everyone was and why they were in the book. Now if I had read all of the other books that may have gotten a little repetitive, I’m not sure, but in this instance it was a good balance of extra info I needed. Unfortunately, I don’t feel compelled to read the books before this one. I know how it ends now so it seems a little pointless. I did thoroughly enjoy this book though.
Also for some reason I kept picturing Tom Ellis from Lucifer as the Duke. It's probably because the guy on the cover looks similar to him? I'm not sure.
